I am available virtually, virtually plus in person, and in person locally.

We can get to know each other with a free consultation phone call.

I like to meet with you during the first or second trimester of your pregnancy so we can create a support plan

We will explore what you value in your unique family

What is it that you really need and desire for your post partum time?

Do you have specific concerns?

When will you sleep?

Do you have a partner and any other children?

My role is to support mothers and their family- partner, children, and caregivers as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood.

Your needs will determine your holistic support plan

Some of the topics we will consider for your unique post partum plan:

  • building your support village

  • education with evidenced based information on post partum recovery

  • listening to your birth story and sharing in your experience

  • writing your birth story

  • self care instruction for mama

  • instruction for newborn care

  • education on breast feeding and bottle feeding

  • food as medicine approach for nourishing meals and snacks

  • text support

    • From here we add the number of weeks and the number of days per week. Each day is usually 4 hours. Additionally we may include more hours and:

sitz baths, herbal body baths, belly binding, restorative cooking with plant-based meals, tonic herbal teas, education for baby massage, a pre-birth mother-to be welcome circle We also can add in something else that you would like

Mama Nurture

The best way to care for our babies is to care for their mamas.

All around our world, childbirth opens a ‘Sacred Window’. Mama is cared for and time is given for her to fall in love with her newborn child, to rest & recover, to be nourished. This newborn mother will emerge with her child, rejuvenated within her new life.

Our Western society neglects the care needed after your baby is born. This transitional time can be difficult. Families, parents and caregivers can feel lost and uneducated when it comes to caring for a baby and navigating their lives from this new point of view!

Families who are supported during the child-bearing years are able to adjust to their new lives with more confidence. The mother’s have a better chance for success in navigating pregnancy, birth and all the challenges that come with post partum.

I focus on the postpartum time because here in the United States we have triple the infant and maternal mortality rates compared to other developed countries. According to the NY Times(April 2018), Black women are 9 times as likely to die from child-birth related causes as white women. One third to one half of mothers die within the first 3 months AFTER delivery. Childbirth follow-ups seldom extend beyond the 6 week checkup.

My name is Aronda, your desert sister doula. I offer non-clinical support for your emotional and physical well-being. I will be your companion, encourage you, educate you and advocate for you during this time.

Let’s get started !
